Introduction
Power BI Co-Pilot is transforming the way we interact with data and it’s no longer limited to the web/desktop. With the Power BI Mobile and Tablet apps, Co-Pilot now delivers AI-powered summaries and data analysis anytime, anywhere. Whether you’re in a meeting or on the go, Co-Pilot helps you track and understand your data effortlessly.
Using Co-Pilot on Mobile or Tablet
When you open the Power BI app and navigate to your report, you’ll notice a “Get a summary from Co-Pilot” button at the bottom left. Tapping this instantly generates a summary of your report. What makes Co-Pilot powerful is that it also shows references you can click to see which visuals or pages were used for the summary.

At the bottom of the screen, you’ll see reference numbers indicating which visuals or pages Co-Pilot is connected to. This gives you full transparency and helps you understand your analysis process better.

Creating Smart Summaries
By clicking the Co-Pilot button in the top-right corner of the report, you can select “Create Executive Summary.” Depending on your selection, this feature generates a summary for either the current page or the entire report. Each summary includes visual references, so you can easily identify which visuals were used in generating insights.

You can also tell Co-Pilot to create a shorter or more detailed summary.
It instantly adjusts while preserving all references. This flexibility is perfect whether you’re preparing for an executive meeting or analyzing KPIs Co-Pilot delivers insights that fit your workflow.
Current Limitations
At present, the Power BI Mobile and Tablet versions do not support custom prompt input. You can only use predefined actions such as generating summaries or insights. However, Microsoft is expected to enable free-text prompt entry for mobile devices in future updates. If you want to experiment with different question types right now, you can temporarily add a Q&A visual to your report to simulate prompt-based interaction.

Conclusion
With Power BI Co-Pilot available on mobile and tablet, data analysis has become more accessible than ever. From executive summaries to instant insights, Co-Pilot is redefining how Power BI users work faster, smarter, and fully AI-driven.
